Susan joined Electric Boat’s Legal Department in May 2011 as a Certified Paralegal providing support for several attorneys in the areas of Government Contracts and Intellectual Property.   Prior to assuming her position at Electric Boat, she worked as Assistant to the Chief Investments Officer of Yale University in New Haven, CT.

Susan, a former Women in Defense Secretary (2013-2014), graduated summa cum laude from Albertus Magnus College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration. She earned her Paralegal Certification from the American Educational Institute (AEI) and is a Notary Public in good standing for the State of Connecticut.

Susan is an avid gourmet cook and gardener and loves anything related to water sports.  She particularly enjoys waterskiing and boating and is planning her first skydiving trip!  Susan and her husband, Louis, live on a 52 acre farm in Canterbury, Connecticut with their children Olivia and Alexander, a black lab named Shadow, three cats, 14 chickens, and a rooster named Captain America affectionately known as “Cappy.”

“Women in Defense provides a platform for women in the defense industry to discuss not only important issues related to the industry, but matters that are pertinent to their family and personal life, as well as their long term career goals.  The women that comprise this extraordinary organization are fiercely independent, strong, and compassionate and have an innate passion to improve and inspire, not only those around them, but the community as well.    I knew I wanted to become a part of WID from the first meeting in 2011; I later served as Secretary.   It is an honor and privilege to be a part of this comradery as I continue to meet exceptional women and forge new and long lasting friendships.”
